DIFFUSE OPTICAL IMAGING

Diffuse Optical Imaging technologies non-invasively monitor and image tissue oxygenation, hydration, fat content and blood flow in deep tissues using broadband near-infrared light.  Diffuse Optical Imaging is used to create a visual map of light absorption and scattering in tissue.  UCI Beckman Laser Institute & Medical Clinic researchers work with Diffuse Optical Spectroscopy, Spatial Frequency Domain Imaging and Laser Speckle Imaging technologies to develop new clinical applications.
