UC Irvine Beckman Laser Institute & Medical Clinic supports diversity in the scientific community. We are committed to supporting underrepresented scientists, engineers and clinicians and advancing the field.
A key endeavor that exemplifies this commitment is the UC Office of the President supported “Accelerating Careers in Engineering and Science (ACES)” program. ACES is a summer training program that introduces high-achieving, underrepresented undergraduate students to the breadth of UC Irvine graduate programs in the fields of biomedical engineering, biophotonics and related STEM disciplines. Through our partnerships with Historically Black Colleges and Universities, we work to prepare the leaders of tomorrow for careers in fields that are revolutionizing healthcare.
UC Irvine Beckman Laser Institute & Medical Clinic strives to be a leader in improving diversity, equity and inclusivity. We stand with UC Irvine’s leadership in unity with the Black community to make our world a better place.
