NIR Spectroscopic Tomography |
Specific AimsSpatial/Spectral Tomograpy for Localized Functional SpectoscopyAim 1: Multidimensional sampling of regions of interest can be achieved with dynamic broadband spectroscopy aided by image-guided definition of the preferred regions to evaluate. Aim 2: The original aim 2 is not being pursued in this network due to the 20% funding cut. Aim 3: Rapid dynamic temporal sampling of regions of interest will be combined with tomography to allow measurement of new contrast mechanisms based upon intrinsic changes in flow as well as induced changes due to externally applied pressure. Aim 4: We will investigate the use of derivative spectroscopy methods to measure diffuse optical path lengths in tissue. Aim 5: In an animal imaging array the functionality of cellular and vascular spaces will be imaged with the use of photoactive contrast agents. |
