  • Team 1 Investigators gave 15 presentations about research progress at 9 scientific meetings.
  • Team 1 investigators filed 4 patent disclosures during this report period. The BC-DOI team has just completed licensing of about 40 United States patents for breast cancer detection to FirstScan, a spinoff company of Spectros, Inc, that formed specifically to work with NTROI and advance optical technology in breast cancer.
  • Almost 100 scientists, clinicians, students, and members of industry from 8 states and 4 countries attended our Third Annual BC-DOI Network Retreat, presenting 23 posters and 18 talks.
  • BC-DOI Network Investigators submitted 10 proposals to various agencies with the aim of leveraging NTROI funding.
  • Team 1 clinical sites enrolled a total of 144 patients in BC-DOI studies.
